About this trip

Jane’s Plain Sailing

Spend 7 nights living onboard a modern sailing boat as part of a ‘ladies only crew’ exploring beautiful coastlines and islands at leisure. You will be staying on board a Sun Odyssey 410 Classic or Oceanis 42.3 (41/42 foot monohulls), professionally skippered and hosted by two lovely ladies.

This is a gentle adventure holiday geared for teamwork and relaxation, mindfulness and recuperation, sociable, friendly and lots of fun!
We sail or motor to a different harbour every day and can include a stop at an anchorage on the way.  There will be plenty of time to participate in sailing, boat handling, swimming, taking therapeutic walks, exploring beautiful villages and anchorages or simply relaxing on deck with a book.

Enjoy optional mindful morning stretches followed by freshly prepared breakfasts after which we sail or motor to a different harbour every day. We often include a stop at an anchorage on the way to enjoy swimming and eating delicious lunches served on board.

You don't need to have previous sailing experience to come on our sailing holidays, but this is an opportunity for hands on experience to be part of the crew working together as a team even if you only want to help with making tea and washing up!  We love teaching sailing and will encourage active participation but that is not compulsory.  Your skipper will happily teach any of the sailing and boat handling that interests you.

Enjoy relaxed sailing as part of a team, you’ll learn how to work together to sail the boat and even share galley duties!

Sailing from Nelsons Dockyard

You will be sailing at leisure around the beautiful Caribbean Island of Antigua.

Antigua may pack 365 beaches into one small island, but with clear seas, a consistent breeze, and a full regatta calendar, the beaches are just the start. Nestled in the heart of the Caribbean’s Leeward Islands, Antigua is the best that sailing has to offer warm, gentle trade winds, safe anchorages, turquoise waters, and deserted white sand beaches.

Set sail in Antigua from the base at Nelson’s Dockyard, where you’ll find a thrumming nightlife and lively bars filled with sailors drinking rum cocktails. From here, we positioned to explore both Antigua and potentially her chilled-out little sister, Barbuda. Drop anchor in Deep Bay and snorkel the famous shipwreck, The Andes, huddled under the blue waters in the middle of the bay.

Step onto dry land for an evening and join one of Antigua’s famous ‘jump-ups’, a steel drum dancing session. We have an option head north (wind permitting) and an afternoon relaxing on tranquil Barbuda. Here we’ll find satiny stretches of pink coral sands for relaxing and colourful reefs for snorkelling. Birds far outnumber people on Barbuda, so take it easy and enjoy the solitude of the reef-protected shores.

Why not extend your trip and stay at the beautiful Historic Nelsons Dockyard, explore the superyachts in Falmouth Harbour, Shirley Heights or stay at one of the beautiful resorts on the island.

Some Highlights:

  • Excellent snorkelling
  • A stunning beach for each day of the year
  • Blue water sailing in steady trade winds
